Helen* moved to the Christie Ossington area on her own from the Ukraine. She connected with the Centre staff and became a dedicated volunteer. While attending Drop-In programs and meeting new people, Helen also began to learn English. Unfortunately Helen was forced to stop coming when she was diagnosed with cancer. This time it was the Drop-In staff's turn to help her.

Drop-In staff assisted in communication and advocacy concerning Helen’s medical treatment. As well they also insured her physical well-being by bringing her meals and other necessities. The Drop-In consistently fosters relationships with our community members. The Drop-In is an amazing resource especially during times of vulnerability. The Drop-In staff aims to provide assistance that is supportive, respectful and critical to the well-being of our entire neighbourhood and city.
