LOFT Programs

The LOFT offers a variety of programs that allow youth to take leadership roles in the community as volunteers, mentors, artists, musicians and social entrepreneurs.

Our core programs include:

-ARTERY - a professional development and community engagement program for emerging visual artists - production of murals, canvas paintings, workshops, t-shirts and exhibitions

 

-BizAcademy - a hands-on training program in entrepreunerial skills development - how to set-up and run a community business - facilitated in conjunction with the Se-Fad Social Enterprise group and Salesforce.com Foundation

 

-CyberLOFT - FREE access to computers and other technologies Monday to Friday, 10am-5pm at the LOFT, including employment resourcing, referrals, resume building as well as graphic and web design opportunities

 

-Graffiti Arts - a City of Toronto sponsored program bringing a group of young artists together under the guidance of mentors to design and execute high-quality mural productions over vandalized walls in the neighborhood

 

-LOFTMusic - opportunities for young song-writers, beat-makers, and engineers to access FREE studio time and work with mentors to produce, record and distribute their music.

 

-LOFT Cafe - a volunteer-based enterprise based on encouraging healthy eating in our community - every Friday youth come together to prepare a healthy meal which is served to the community

 

-Mentorship - a program run in conjunction with Salesforce.com Foundation pairing up youth with mentors to help them clarify their career path, and make informed choices about the educational and business ambitions

 

-Recreation - weekly drop-in basketball (Bob Abate Rec Centre and Christie Pitts) and drop-in soccer (St. Alban's Boys and Girls club), as well as a bi-weekly yoga program run in conjunction with the Adult Drop-in program - also opportunities for GTA youth to participate in excursion including skating, skiing, horse-back riding and bowling to name a few
