The L.O.F.T. LOFT Sound Studio

The Sound Studio Project promotes the voices of LOFT youth to the greater community through music written, produced and engineered by our youth. LOFT Music offers beatmaking, songwriting and recording opportunities for marginalized young artists through mentorship and peer-support models. The program was authored by Robert Bailey and Sunny Singh, who worked with service providers such as Long and Mcquade and the Kiwanis Foundation to build the Sound Studio in the legacy of Grab Da Mic n Spit.

The LOFT provides FREE access to the Sound Studio for youth that wish to share their voice and their messages of change, empowerment and struggle. We encourage collaboration and mentorship through this service, allowing people from all walks of life and musical genres to share best practices and empower one another.

The LOFT offers workshops in production facilitated by our Mentor Artists and Student Staff, such as Kenwyn Kipenji aka Raise the Bar.
The Sound Studio is part of the LOFT in every aspect - everyone is exposed to the creation of the music from the ground up, including making the beat, recording, mixing and mastering.
