The Nook Event Day 1
NOOK SUMMER 2010!
The NOOK Literacy/Arts & Recreation Drop-In Program is a non-profit after school, suspension help, summer and special events program for local at-risk children 6-12 years old. Registration is required for safety purposes. Once registered, children may attend the NOOK any or every day of the week. Please contact staff to discuss your family’s access to the NOOK.
Nook Summer Program runs from Thursday, July 4th to Friday, August 8th (Registration is now open)
Monday to Friday, 10 am -4 pm in Christie Pits Park (Bloor & Christie)
Children should bring;
* Lunch
* Shoes to run in!
* Sunscreen and a hat
* Swimsuit and towel
Children under the age of 10 should be picked up and dropped off by a parent/guardian. All pick-up and drop-off arrangements must be confirmed with Nook staff.
Our home base is the Concrete Pagoda with the picnic tables- inside the corner of the park near the North-West corner of Christie and Bloor.
Daily activities and services at the Nook during the summer include;
ARTS: Visual Arts, Music, Drama
LITERACY: Creative Writing, Interactive Reading
SPORTS: Team Sports, swimming
COOPERATIVE GAMES
GARDENING and Environmental Learning Activities
FIELD TRIPS in our local community and beyond!
HEALTHY SNACK and Life Skills Workshops
Special Guest Workshops
and so much more!

Esta carta es para informarles que el “Programa Nook para Después de las Clases del Colegio 2008” comienza el Lunes 29 de Setiembre, 2008 de 3:30 a 6pm en el Centro de Recreación, The Alex Duff Recreation Centre en Christie Pits. Para información básica de nuestro programa por favor ver el aviso siguiente. • Por favor llámenos para confirmar la presencia de su hijo(a) en el “Programa Nook para Después de las Clases del Colegio” para este año, mencionándonos que días de la semana él/ella puede asistir. • Es muy importante que Ud. nos informe los más antes posible si Ud. cambia su número telefónico, números de emergencia, información de contacto u otra información de salud de su hijo/hija. • Por favor avísenos si otra persona se encargara de recoger a su hijo/hija, o si va a regresar solo(a) por su cuenta a casa. • Si tiene amistades interesados en el programa, por favor dígale que nos llame lo más antes posible. • Por favor evite traer comidas con nueces, maní y todos sus variedades porque tenemos participantes con alergias severas a estos productos. • A continuación, hemos incluido una copia de las reglas del “Programa Nook para Después de las Clases del Colegio”. Por favor leer las reglas con su hijo(s) antes de asistir al programa.
