The Nook Staff
Nook staff members come from diverse and exciting fields to provide the optimum in educational opportunities for our local children. Employing specialists Education, Social Work, and in literacy, arts, and outdoor recreation means that we are able to offer all three options on a daily basis within Nook programs.
The Nook program generally hires twice a year- in late spring for NookSummer and in late summer for Nook After School.
Placement students from local high schools, colleges, universities and vocational schools provide essential staffing and support to all Nook programs. The benefits of working in a relatively small program include the direct recognition of impact and the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks not always readily available to students; fundraising, program planning and delivery, one-on-one support, field research, special events coordination, staff training and so much more.
